Springfield

Springfield, Massachusetts is the largest city on the Connecticut River and has a population of approximately 154,000.  It is the third largest city in Massachusetts and the fourth largest in New England overall.  It has been given two nicknames.  Namely, they are “The City of Homes” and “The City of Firsts.”  Springfield is famous for being the birthplace of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known to most people as Dr. Seuss. It’s also the city where James Naismith invented basketball and it is home to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
