Greensboro is the third-largest city in North Carolina and has an estimated population of 257,000. In 1808, Greensborough, as it was spelled before 1895, was planned around a central courthouse square. Today, Greensboro is part of a thriving metropolitan area called the Triad. The Traid includes Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem, with more than a million people in total in those three areas. Today, Greensboro is becoming one of the South’s up-and-coming centers for businesses that are relocating.
